Modernisation and endowment of tram line no. 21
The overall objective of the project is to reduce CO2-equivalent emissions from motorised road transport by 906 tonnes/year. By purchasing the 12 new trams that will run on line 21, the aim is to increase the attractiveness and improve the efficiency of public passenger transport, frequency and journey times, accessibility and implicit transfer to it from private transport by car. About the Low-carbon economy objective
Thematic Objective 4 funds the low-carbon economy — renewable-energy capacity, energy efficiency in public buildings and housing, low-carbon urban mobility, smart grids and combined heat and power. It is the single largest climate strand of 2014–2020 Cohesion.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €17.4M toward a total project cost of €21.7M — a co-funding rate of 80%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
Kohesio is the European Commission's open-data platform for projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund Plus, the Cohesion Fund and the Just Transition Fund.
