The project is part of the TEN-T Priority Axis No 22: Athens-Sofia-Budapest-Vienna-Prague-Nuremberg/Dresden which connects the eastern EU Member States through a major railway axis with western European countries. The present Coșlariu – Simeria railway line section is located in Central-West of Romania, in the counties of Alba and Hunedoara.
