Modernisation of the ŽKV fleet under OPII – Part 5
The project forms part of the long-term concept of renewal of the ZSSK fleet, follows the ZSSK strategy and is also in line with the strategic documents of the Slovak Republic. It addresses the improvement of the services of the ŽOD, its attractiveness for passengers and is beneficial for the development of ITS in the Slovak Republic. The project responds to the unsatisfactory state of the vehicle fleet for regional passenger transport through the purchase of new passenger cars. Thematic Objective 7 funds sustainable transport and network infrastructure: TEN-T core-network completion, rail electrification, urban mobility, ports and inland-waterway upgrades.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €27.9M toward a total project cost of €32.8M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
