Modernisation of the ŽKV fleet under OPII – Part 1

The project is part of the long-term strategy of ZSSK to renew and modernise the vehicle fleet in order to improve the service of the ŽOD, to increase its attractiveness for passengers and to help the construction of ITS in Slovakia. It responds to the unsatisfactory state of the ŽKV for passenger transport in the Banská Bystrica region and to the competition of bus and car transport, which offers quality services and significantly higher travel comfort. Thematic Objective 7 funds sustainable transport and network infrastructure: TEN-T core-network completion, rail electrification, urban mobility, ports and inland-waterway upgrades.
