Development of the Union’s eco-neighborhood in Roubaix, Tourcoing and Wattrelos
Located in the cities of Roubaix, Tourcoing and Wattrelos, the Union’s urban project is being implemented in a vast area of 80 Ha. This ambitious project to rehabilitate 80 ha of wasteland in urban areas, carried out by SEM VR, aims to regain a degraded area in the heart of the city. The development operation includes the creation and renovation of public spaces, which will allow a new attractiveness of the site, with the objective of: the reception and development of new economic activities, housing, public facilities with a vocation of functional, social and urban diversity.
About the Environment and resource efficiency objective
Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €6.4M toward a total project cost of €6.9M — a co-funding rate of 93%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
