Co-producing and co-financing renewable community energy projects
When citizens join forces to set up, finance and manage energy production based on renewables in their region, we call it renewable community energy. The project gives municipalities, regional energy planning agencies and citizens’ associations across the Baltic Sea region the information they need to start and run community energy projects in their regions. About the Environment and resource efficiency objective
Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €2.4M toward a total project cost of €3.1M — a co-funding rate of 78%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
Kohesio is the European Commission's open-data platform for projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund, the European Social Fund Plus, the Cohesion Fund and the Just Transition Fund.
