Co-operation Across Borders for Biodiversity
The overall objective of the Conservation Across Borders for Biodiversity (CABB) project is to bring about the recovery of protected habitats (active raised and blanket bog) and priority species (breeding waders and marsh fritillary at key sites) on a cross border and cross country basis. Indicative actions to be delivered include– mapping of protected sites, development and implementation of Conservation Action Plans (CAPs), conservation action for habitats and species, development and sharing of best practice and education and outreach. Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €4.2M toward a total project cost of €4.9M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
