This project aims to implement a research laboratory in the “Maison des Matériaux” in Belval specialising in the development of single crystals. A monocrystal is a solid material consisting of a single crystal, formed from a single germ and which is mainly used in the sectors of environmental technology (solar panels), biotechnology (microfluid apparatus for blood analysis) and ICT (sensors for autonomous driving, smartphones and computers). Monocrystals are also used in the design of transistors, diodes and solar cells used in electronic devices and solar energy systems.
