ATTRACT2 Breakthrough Innovation Programme for a Pan-European Detection and Imaging Eco-System – Phase-2

Coordinator: ORGANISATION EUROPEENNE POUR LA RECHERCHE NUCLEAIRE (CH)

The ATTRACT Phase-2 project aims to consolidate a European innovation ecosystem focused on breakthrough Detection & Imaging technologies. This ecosystem is backboned by three types of actors: National and European RIs, Industrial organizations and their associated communities. Although these actors understand and practice innovation under different rationales, the goal of ATTRACT Phase-2 merges their common aim for overcoming the innovation “Valley-of-Death”. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

EU contribution: €35.0M awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 4.5 years from 2021-02-01 to 2025-07-31.
