European Researchers Night is the biggest science festival for broad public organised in Slovakia. Every year, it gathers researchers from all over the country who meet with people and science enthusiasts in unusual places outside of laboratories and universities. The whole-day program of the ERN is organised in shopping malls and in an Old Market Hall that is accessible and available for free to all citizens. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
