RIFTVAX Clinical development of Rift Valley fever vaccines in endemic regions

Initial funding was provided to the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) in 2019 which was used to support preclinical and clinical development of Rift Valley fever (RVF) and Chikungunya (Chik) vaccines respectively. This funding was provided to applicants as a joint effort between CEPI and the Horizon 2020 programme, under the CEPI Call for Proposals CfP3i. Whilst previous funding has led to the development of pre-licensure Chik vaccines, development of RVF vaccines is at a much earlier stage. About Horizon Europe (2021–2027)
Horizon Europe is the EU's current research and innovation programme, covering 2021 to 2027 with a budget of roughly €95.5 billion. Co-funding: the European Union contributes €35.0M toward a total project budget of €50.0M — a funding rate of 70%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 4 years from 2022-08-01 to 2026-07-31.
