2D-PRINTABLE Developing New 2D Materials and Heterostructures for Printed Digital Devices

Coordinator: THE PROVOST, FELLOWS, FOUNDATION SCHOLARS & THE OTHER MEMBERS OF BOARD, OF THE COLLEGE OF THE HOLY & UNDIVIDED TRINITY OF QUEEN ELIZABETH NEAR DUBLIN (IE)

2D-PRINTABLE aims at using sustainable liquid exfoliation methods to make >40 new 2D-materials (2DMs) and to develop printing and liquid-deposition methods to fabricate nanosheet (NS) networks and heterostructures with unique properties to enable the production of advanced printed digital devices, in perfect alignment with the expected outcomes of the work program. To identify new 2DMs, we will use modelling to survey thousands of possible 2DMs to identify those with superlative electronic properties (conductors, semiconductors, insulators). Layered crystals of these target materials will be …

About Horizon Europe (2021–2027)

Horizon Europe is the EU's current research and innovation programme, covering 2021 to 2027 with a budget of roughly €95.5 billion. Its three pillars are Excellent Science (frontier research and mobility), Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness (mission-driven collaborative projects in health, climate, digital, security and food) and Innovative Europe (the EIC and EIT). It also funds five EU Missions targeting cancer, climate adaptation, smart cities, oceans and soils.

EU contribution: €4.0M awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 3 years from 2023-10-01 to 2026-09-30.
