NANOFILT Development of Multifunctional Nanofibre Composite Membranes for Air Filtration

Coordinator: KAUNO TECHNOLOGIJOS UNIVERSITETAS (LT)

Air pollution is a critical global challenge affecting public health and the environment. The NANOFILT project will address this issue by advancing nanofibre-based filtration technologies. Current air filters face limitations in balancing efficiency with durability and cost effectiveness. This research will develop novel nanofibre composite membranes that go beyond state-of-the-art air filtration. The main objectives are to:(1) Create innovative nanofibre composites with enhanced mechanical and functional properties. (2) Conduct comprehensive characterisation of these new materials. (3) Develo…

About Horizon Europe (2021–2027)

Horizon Europe is the EU's current research and innovation programme, covering 2021 to 2027 with a budget of roughly €95.5 billion. Its three pillars are Excellent Science (frontier research and mobility), Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness (mission-driven collaborative projects in health, climate, digital, security and food) and Innovative Europe (the EIC and EIT). It also funds five EU Missions targeting cancer, climate adaptation, smart cities, oceans and soils.

The project runs over approximately 2 years from 2026-02-01 to 2028-01-31.
