JAIF will serve customers on the exascale supercomputer complex around JUPITER, scheduled to become operational in mid-2025. JUPITER is poised to be one of the strongest AI training machines in the world that allows, due to its superfast connectivity, full parallelism of training models on thousands of nodes. JAIF will help exploit JUPITER's outstanding capabilities and capacities, and leverage its transformative power for AI training.In addition, the call offers the exciting opportunity to implement an experimental supercomputing platform for AI calculations. About Horizon Europe (2021–2027)
Horizon Europe is the EU's current research and innovation programme, covering 2021 to 2027 with a budget of roughly €95.5 billion. Its three pillars are Excellent Science (frontier research and mobility), Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness (mission-driven collaborative projects in health, climate, digital, security and food) and Innovative Europe (the EIC and EIT). It also funds five EU Missions targeting cancer, climate adaptation, smart cities, oceans and soils.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €15.0M toward a total project budget of €30.0M — a funding rate of 50%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 5.8 years from 2025-10-01 to 2031-07-31.
