BELISSIMA BELGRADE INITIATIVE FOR SPACE SCIENCE, INSTRUMENTATION AND MODELLING IN ASTROPHYSICS
Coordinator: ASTRONOMSKA OPSERVATORIJA (RS)
Project BELISSIMA will exploit existing research capacities and EU links to establish the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade (AOB) as the Balkans’ most dynamic and competitive centre for astronomical and space sciences. AOB has been the center of astronomical sciences for more than a century, now with 8 national research projects and 15 principal scientists with wide range of expertise in astrophysics, astrodynamics, space sciences and related fields. BELISSIMA will help achieving improved research capacity through A) recruiting 2 incoming experienced researchers from USA/Australia (negotia…
About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €1.3M toward a total project budget of €1.5M — a funding rate of 88%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 6 years from 2010-07-01 to 2016-06-30.
