QOSTREAM Video Quality Driven Multimedia Streaming in Mobile Wireless Networks
Coordinator: UNIVERZITET U NOVOM SADU FAKULTET TEHNICKIH NAUKA (RS)
Robust and efficient multimedia transmission over wireless networks to mobile users is a challenging task due to large bandwidth consumption, quality of service (QoS) requirements, real-time and power constraints, heterogeneous receiver capabilities and error-prone wireless transmission environment. The necessity for seamless access and exchange of large amount of multimedia content anytime and anywhere by mobile users is driving intensive research within this field as it provides a number of business opportunities through commercial multimedia applications provisioning such as digital TV, vi…
About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)
The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €356k toward a total project budget of €367k — a funding rate of 97%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 4 years from 2012-02-01 to 2016-01-31.
