SNIFFER Sensory devices network for food supply chain security

Coordinator: TEKEVER ASDS (PT)

Project SNIFFER envisions the design and development of a network of distributed detectiondevices, capable of rapid, on-site detection of multiple kinds of agents and CBR agents with highsensitivity and specificity throughout the most vulnerable stages of the food supply chain (such asfarms, large collection centers, wholesalers, etc…). The project will address both available sensortechnology and new, complementary sensor devices that shall be used for the detection ofhazardous CBR agents within the food supply chain. The sensor devices to be developed arecharacterized by their portability, e…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €2.7M toward a total project budget of €3.6M — a funding rate of 75%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 3 years from 2013-05-01 to 2016-04-30.
