HELMHOLTZ Holistic evaluation of light and multiwave applications to high resolution imaging in ophthalmic translational research revisiting the helmholtzian synergies

Coordinator: FONDATION DE COOPERATION SCIENTIFIQUE VOIR ET ENTENDRE (FR)

The HELMHOLTZ project associates two leading neighbouring institutions: the Institut de la Vision (Fondation Voir et Entendre) and the Institut Langevin (Fondation Pierre-Gilles de Gennes) committed to boost the integration of technological research in photonics, acoustics and ultrasound with translational research on vision impairment, in order to co-develop and validate prototypes for non-invasive in vivo structural and functional dynamic imaging technologies for ophthalmology.Innovative imaging tools will rely on emerging concepts such as ultrafast ultrasound, laser Doppler holography, ful…

About Seventh Framework Programme (2007–2013)

The Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) ran from 2007 to 2013 and was the EU's main research-funding instrument of that period. It mobilised roughly €50 billion across cooperation projects, ERC frontier grants, Marie Curie fellowships, capacity-building actions and Euratom research. FP7 closed to new calls in 2013 but its projects continued for years after under their original grant agreements.

EU contribution: €11.9M awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 6 years from 2014-08-01 to 2020-07-31.
