POLONEZ SUPPORTING MOBILITY IN THE ERA THROUGH AN INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME FOR DEVELOPEMENT OF BASIC RESEARCH IN POLAND

Coordinator: NARODOWE CENTRUM NAUKI (PL)

POLONEZ is a Fellowship Programme supporting international incoming researchers working in the broad field of research regardless of their nationality. It will be implemented by the National Science Centre (NCN), a government agency funding basic research in Poland. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €5.8M toward a total project budget of €11.7M — a funding rate of 50%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 5.7 years from 2015-09-01 to 2021-05-31.
