CREATE The CREAtion of the Department of Physical Chemistry of Biological SysTEms

Coordinator: INSTYTUT CHEMII FIZYCZNEJ POLSKIEJ AKADEMII NAUK (PL)

The CREATE project is targeted at development of a new chair - Department of Physical Chemistry of Biological Systems within the structure of the Institute of Physical Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IPC) led by reputable world-class scientist (ERA Chair holder). The project predicts a number of measures to be taken by the new leader, aimed at extending research excellency of IPC into the new field (physical chemistry inspired by biology), consistent with new regional strategy of Mazovian Voivodeship.IPC has a solid research record in both - fundamental and application-oriented r…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €2.5M toward a total project budget of €2.8M — a funding rate of 90%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 5.5 years from 2015-10-01 to 2021-03-31.
