PaRaDeSEC Expanding Potential in Particle and Radiation Detectors, Sensors and Electronics in Croatia
Coordinator: RUDER BOSKOVIC INSTITUTE (HR)
Modern experiments in astrophysics, nuclear and particle physics depend on specialized and complex detector systems. Development and testing of such unique instrumentation, essential for breakthrough research, requires expertise from a broad range of topics in physics, electronics and computing. Research institutions able to make significant contributions in this field have a high reputation in the scientific community and increased odds to engage in related large collaborative projects. Participation in such activities requires a significant investment in infrastructure, but often leads to e…
About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €2.4M toward a total project budget of €2.7M — a funding rate of 90%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 5.7 years from 2015-07-01 to 2021-03-31.
