V-Tex Multi Demonstration and optimisation of a highly innovative beverage cooling system that will deliver up to 90% energy savings
Coordinator: Vending Marketing trgovina, storitve, marketing d.o.o. (SI)
In July 2014, the European Commission proposed a targeted 30% reduction by 2030, which is ambitious and requires strongmeasures to encourage improved energy efficiency. One area earmarked for major improvements is commercialrefrigeration, which is responsible for 85TW/h of energy consumption per annum and has so far been exempt from EcoDesign and Labelling regulations. This is about to change with regulators demanding a saving of 58TW/h by 2030, clearly amajor challenge. Within commercial refrigeration, beverage cooling consumes 21.2TWh/year. The European fleet ofbeverage coolers consists of …
About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €1.4M toward a total project budget of €1.9M — a funding rate of 70%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 2 years from 2015-09-01 to 2017-08-31.
