Coordinator: INSTYTUT CHEMII FIZYCZNEJ POLSKIEJ AKADEMII NAUK (PL)

The Project “Interdisciplinary NAnoscience School: from phenoMEnology to applicationS” (‘NaMeS’) is aimed at creating a new generation of scientists, capable of working in both scientific and business sectors, and becoming the stimulants and intermediaries of knowledge & technology transfer on an international scale. NaMeS combines chemistry, physics, mathematics, biology and material science. The Project, benefiting from former IPC achievements in nanoscience, was designed to employ the phenomenological knowledge concerning nanoscale processes to the creation of new materials applicable in i…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €2.3M toward a total project budget of €4.6M — a funding rate of 50%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 5.2 years from 2016-11-01 to 2022-01-31.
