The SLICE3D project is dedicated to the preparation of a scientific and innovation strategy together with a robust business plan for the realization of the Centre of Excellence on geospatial data in Slovenia. Since most of human decisions are directly or indirectly related to the location, geospatial data are nowadays a foundation for sustainable planning and development, territorial and disaster management, risk assessment, other societal benefits. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
