BrachyDOSE Developing a feasibility study for the future commercialization of BranchyDOSE – an innovative accurate and simple brachytherapy measurements tool

Coordinator: MB SESI PARTNERIAI (LT)

High Dose Rate (HDR) brachytherapy represents the increasingly popular internal radiation therapy method commonly used as an effective treatment for cervical, prostate, breast, skin cancer and tumors. While HDR brachytherapy is relatively fast, safe and highly beneficial, its results are often corrupted by human error. It is essential to measure the radiation dose delivered to ensure a safe and effective delivery of the treatment plan. The most accurate way of measurement is by comparing dosimetry results with the mathematic modeling results. Nonetheless, the use of dosimeters is not a standa…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €50k toward a total project budget of €71k — a funding rate of 70%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 0.5 years from 2017-06-01 to 2017-11-30.
