STEP-IN Using Living Labs to roll out Sustainable Strategies for Energy Poor Individuals

Coordinator: LUXEMBOURG INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (LU)

STEP-IN will develop a global methodology for the effective analysis and tackling of energy poverty. STEP-IN has identified three highly challenging locations with diverse characteristics across Europe including: a mountainous region in Greece, a rural area in Hungary and an urban area in the UK with low quality housing. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

EU contribution: €2.0M awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 2.8 years from 2018-06-01 to 2021-03-31.
