COSMOS Fenix® (CF) is the trademark name of the patented process owned by Velaworks for the inerting of hazardous Air Pollution Control (APC) ashes derived from non-recyclable Waste Thermal Treatments, able to transform them into valuable secondary raw material (powder) that can be used as filler and flame retardant in plastic and rubber production. The easy and inexpensive process gives an effective answer to the huge problem of fly ashes landfill. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
