CLEANprocesses Gaining an in-depth understanding of the technical feasibility and commercialization potential for the cold-active amylase enzyme

Coordinator: NUNAZYMES APS (GL)

CLEANprocesses (CoLd-active Enzymes and New sustainable Processes) will analyse the technical feasibility of a cold-active amylase enzyme as well as its commercial potential in various markets. Enzymes are a key ingredient in many consumer products, such as food & drinks, textile, pharmaceuticals and detergents, and the enzyme market has become a multibillion dollar industry worldwide. For decades, it has been a goal for enzyme producers to discover truly cold-active enzymes, due to their performance at low temperature industrial processes resulting in significant reduction in energy and cost…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €50k toward a total project budget of €71k — a funding rate of 70%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 0.5 years from 2018-06-01 to 2018-11-30.
