SEASCANN Integrative vision and real-time communication system for onboard sorting of fish species

Fishing fleets must handle great amounts of fish as fast as possible to prevent deterioration of quality, assess catch’s worth, prepare next processing and marketing steps, and report catch to the authorities. Today, this labour-intensive, time-consuming and subjective process is conducted by fishermen. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation.
