The mission statement of NEXTS is to provide the European industry and academia with a platform to develop smart integrated systems, from advanced prototype design to volume production. The latter will be achieved by providing easy and affordable access to a wide range of fabrication technologies and tools complemented with training and support to the customer in all critical steps which are needed. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
