PROMETHEUS Pulsed Rapid ultra-short laser surface texturing for Manufacture of FlexiblE and CusTomisEd ProdUctS

PROMETHEUS will deliver the next generation in high power ultra-short pulse laser surface processing. The project will develop key enabling component technologies including; ultra-short pulse laser architectures with pulse duration in the range 700 ps – 10ns, average power >1kW and pulse repetition rates >500Hz. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
