DataProMat A Diffusion Maps workflow enabled by Neural Networks and Equation-free calculations for multi scale material and process modelling

Coordinator: UNIVERSITE DU LUXEMBOURG (LU)

The ambition of this fellowship, hosted by Professor S.P.A. Bordas (UL), is to propose a nonlinear manifold learning framework, in particular to implement the Diffusion Maps methodology, enabled by “equation-free” calculations and Artificial Neural Networks, in the context of multi-scale materials and process modeling and design. The goal is to push the boundaries of the “Digital Twins” paradigm beyond the current-state-of-the-art and to establish a methodological framework that links macro-scale process parameters and conditions to properties of complex materials, in an effort to meet the cu…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

EU contribution: €178k awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 2 years from 2021-09-01 to 2023-08-31.
