In 2017, Latvia's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex increased by 4.7% compared to 2016, reaching 39.9%.
The figure is above the EU-27 average of 14.7%.
Latvia ranks 2nd out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.
Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 187.1% (from 13.9% in 2012).
