At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 3.3% compared to 2022, reaching 29.0%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Malta ranks 5th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 14.2% (from 25.4% in 2018).
