At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2024, Malta's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 1.7% compared to 2023, reaching 28.5%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Malta ranks 6th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 2.9% (from 27.7% in 2019).
