Main indicators - share of renewable energy

In 2021, Malta's main indicators increased by 1.7% compared to 2020, reaching 9.6%.

The figure is below the EU-27 average of 37.8%.

Malta ranks 27th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 68.9% (from 5.7% in 2016).
