At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2019, Portugal's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 2.3% compared to 2018, reaching 17.3%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.0%.

Portugal ranks 12th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the top half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 14.6% (from 15.1% in 2014).
