RIGA Heat AS is the main supplier of thermal energy in Riga. It produces, transmits and sells heat, as well as provides maintenance of internal heating systems for heat users. 76 % of the thermal energy needed for Riga is transferred and distributed by RIGA Heat AS. 77 % of the thermal energy supplied by the company is used for heating of residential houses and preparing hot water. About the Low-carbon economy objective

Thematic Objective 4 funds the low-carbon economy — renewable-energy capacity, energy efficiency in public buildings and housing, low-carbon urban mobility, smart grids and combined heat and power. It is the single largest climate strand of 2014–2020 Cohesion.

Co-funding: the EU contributes €5.8M toward a total project cost of €14.5M — a co-funding rate of 40%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
