Establishing preconditions for better biodiversity conservation and ecosystem protection in Latvia
The aim of the project is to prepare pre-conditions for the conservation of biological diversity and ecosystem protection by carrying out identification of distribution and quality of specially protected habitats of European Union importance (hereinafter – protected habitats of EU importance), analysis of the acquired basic information, as well as to develop specially protected nature territories (hereinafter referred to as nature conservation plans) and five specially protected species conservation plans (hereinafter – species conservation plans). Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €8.7M toward a total project cost of €10.3M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
