DPMP, Modernisation of the trolleybus fleet in Prešov
The transport company of Prešov, a.s. (DPMP) provides regular public transport in the city. DPMP faces strong competition from individual car transport. This has gradually reduced the number of passengers transported by public transport since 1992 and thus the company’s share of the transport market. IAD plays a decisive role in creating strong congestion in the city. For this reason, DPMP needs to invest in the development of trolleybus traction. About the Low-carbon economy objective
Thematic Objective 4 funds the low-carbon economy — renewable-energy capacity, energy efficiency in public buildings and housing, low-carbon urban mobility, smart grids and combined heat and power. It is the single largest climate strand of 2014–2020 Cohesion.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €6.7M toward a total project cost of €7.9M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
