The aim of the project “Development of municipal waste management infrastructure” is to expand the infrastructure for separate collection and preparation for re-use of municipal waste in Vilnius region by implementing bio-waste collection containers and composting measures for individual holdings, installing and upgrading bulky waste collection sites, informing the public about waste prevention and management issues. Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €5.5M toward a total project cost of €6.5M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
