The train stations involved in the project run 600-10,000 people a day. A significant part of the passenger traffic is a daily walk-in traveller. The share of users of Community/individual means of transport (modal-split) is currently 35 %/65 %, which will lead to a further shift towards individual transport without positive changes. Developments initiated by MÁV Zrt. along the entire value chain: network development, stations and station services are intended to increase the competitiveness of rail transport. Thematic Objective 7 funds sustainable transport and network infrastructure: TEN-T core-network completion, rail electrification, urban mobility, ports and inland-waterway upgrades.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €15.6M toward a total project cost of €18.6M — a co-funding rate of 84%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
