THAYA 2020
The drainage area of the river Thaya lies within the Czech Republic and Austria. In some parts the river forms the boarder. In the cities Vranov, Znojmo and Nové Mlýny, there is a water reservoir and on the boarder there are two national parks. The authorities in both countries are in charge separately for the protection of water and nature. For an optimised water management and for good conditions of water and nature it is necessary to harmonise the approaches. About the Environment and resource efficiency objective
Thematic Objective 6 finances environment and resource efficiency — water and waste management, biodiversity protection, contaminated-site remediation, air quality, and the circular economy.
Co-funding: the EU contributes €1.5M toward a total project cost of €1.8M — a co-funding rate of 85%, with the remainder covered by national, regional or private sources.
