In line with the new European Innovation Agenda’s flagship on accelerating and strengthening innovation in European Innovation Ecosystems across the EU and addressing the innovation divide, the RIVCircular project proposes the collaboration of six European regions in southern (Madrid), central (Haut de France), northern (Innlandet and Brandenburg) and eastern (Kosice and Kiev) Europe in the field of the circular economy. About Horizon Europe (2021–2027)
Horizon Europe is the EU's current research and innovation programme, covering 2021 to 2027 with a budget of roughly €95.5 billion. Its three pillars are Excellent Science (frontier research and mobility), Global Challenges and European Industrial Competitiveness (mission-driven collaborative projects in health, climate, digital, security and food) and Innovative Europe (the EIC and EIT). It also funds five EU Missions targeting cancer, climate adaptation, smart cities, oceans and soils.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €10.4M toward a total project budget of €20.9M — a funding rate of 50%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 5 years from 2024-10-01 to 2029-09-30.
