COPQE Composite Pulses for Quantum Engineering

Coordinator: INSTITUTE OF SOLID STATE PHYSICS BULGARIAN ACADEMY OF SCIENCES (BG)

The development of integrated circuit technologies at scales approaching the quantum regime sparked an immense interest in the field of quantum information processing (QIP). These advances changed our understanding of the relation between information and quantum physics, and triggered a vast research effort into quantum engineering, which seeks to meet the practical challenges of controlling quantum systems with extremely high fidelities by encompassing both fundamental physics and engineering. With this proposal we intend to enable the systematic incorporation of composite pulses into practic…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

EU contribution: €141k awarded to the consortium. The project runs over approximately 2.1 years from 2016-10-07 to 2018-11-06.
