APIs are typically flat structures, i.e. sets of service/method signatures specifying the expected service parameters and the kind of results one should expect in return. However, correct API usage also requires the individual services to be invoked in a specific order. Despite its importance, the latter information is either often omitted, or stated informally via textual descriptions. Behavioural Types are a suite of technologies that formalise of this information, elevating flat API descriptions to a graph structure of services. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
