KTN Ltd., a research driven Latvian SME is making innovation in the railways automation proposing a control system IntelHeat for fully automatic management of railway points heating during winters by continuous monitoring of snowing and other weather conditions. IntelHeat will satisfy customers’ needs to optimize heating regimes, will automate the process and will provide effective savings of electricity. About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
