FLEXIGRID ENABLING FLEXIBILITY FOR FUTURE DISTRIBUTION GRID
Coordinator: SPINVERSE SWEDEN AB (SE)
FLEXI-GRID will demonstrate cutting-edge technologies and innovative flexible markets enabled by advanced cross-platforms for local energy exchanges and providing flexibility to distribution system operators in order to ensure a secure, stable and affordable operations of electrical distribution grids for de-carbonising energy systems with high shares of renewables (up to and beyond 100%). By leveraging digital, smart grid technologies, IoT, blockchain, FLEXI-GRID will provide a transparent data management platform by broadcasting real-time information on the conditions of the network to opti…
About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)
Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.
Co-funding: the European Union contributes €8.1M toward a total project budget of €10.4M — a funding rate of 78%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 3.8 years from 2019-11-01 to 2023-08-31.
