PSI-FELLOW-III-3i International, Interdisciplinary & Intersectoral Postdoctoral Fellowships at the Paul Scherrer Institut

Coordinator: PAUL SCHERRER INSTITUT (CH)

Large-scale research facilities are enabling cutting edge research and innovation in important domains such as materials science, health and energy. A number of such accelerator facilities is currently under construction in Europe and will become operational within the next five years. Thus, there is a growing need for highly qualified researchers trained in interdisciplinary research at such facilities and also an increasing demand from companies to use these facilities for developing and testing innovative products. The Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI), one of Europes leading research centres an…

About Horizon 2020 (2014–2020)

Horizon 2020 was the EU's flagship research and innovation programme for 2014–2020, with a budget of around €77 billion. It bundled FP7's strands with the EIT and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme, introduced a stronger societal-challenge orientation, and pushed the funding logic toward closer-to-market innovation. New calls closed in 2020 but funded projects continued through 2024.

Co-funding: the European Union contributes €4.4M toward a total project budget of €8.8M — a funding rate of 50%, with the remainder covered by the consortium partners. The project runs over approximately 5 years from 2020-09-01 to 2025-08-31.
