At-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex - EU-SILC and ECHP surveys

In 2023, Italy's at-risk-of-poverty rate by poverty threshold, age and sex decreased by 5.1% compared to 2022, reaching 16.9%.

The figure is above the EU-27 average of 16.6%.

Italy ranks 14th out of 27 EU member states with reported data — in the bottom half of the distribution.

Over the past five years, the indicator has grown by 10.5% (from 15.3% in 2018).
